Garden Hills (30305) is a large neighborhood in south Buckhead between Peachtree and Piedmont Roads. This urban forest area has great beauty with an incredibly convenient location, tucked away between 2 of Buckhead’s major thoroughfares. Garden Hills was developed by a prominent lawyer, Phillips McDuffee, starting in 1925. He envisioned a community with pool and community center at its heart. Those dreams have come true with the Garden Hills pool, a long time feature of the neighborhood, with a spacious new pool house completed in 2014.
Garden Hills has winding streets lined with large trees, a mix of large and medium sized 20th century homes, some larger homes built in the 21st century and some high rise condo units. The architecture of houses includes Georgian, Tudor, Spanish Revival, Craftsman and some contemporary. The Lindbergh MARTA station has attracted a large development of retail, apartments and condos to the south side of this Buckhead community. It boasts a convenience to shopping, transportation, schools and churches that is rare in an urban neighborhood which still has the feel of a suburban community.
