Ansley Park Available Homes for Sale

Ansley Park (30309) is an early 20th Century neighborhood situated in Midtown Atlanta. Named for the developer, Edwin P. Ansley, it was built between 1904 and 1930, as a suburban residential district when Atlanta had very small city limits. As the Atlanta city limits were expanded, a few years after the neighborhood was established, Ansley Park became part of the city. It was known for its prominent residents, including the Governor of Georgia. The Governor’s mansion was in Ansley Park until 1967.  The streets are very curving and grand, with many large lots and numerous parks that were designed into the original plan of the neighborhood.

Today, it thrives as a neighborhood that is amazingly close to major city attractions such as Piedmont Park, The Woodruff Arts Center and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Ansley Park’s western border is the famous Peachtree Street, which is home to many midrise office buildings. The styles of housing are diverse but gracious, from one-story cottages to multi-story condos. The architectural styles include Colonial, Federal, Neo–Classical, Tudor, Prairie and Craftsman bungalows. Many grand houses sit on large lots on primary streets, giving Ansley Park a feeling of vintage grandeur.
